Alicante city
The capital with the Postiguet city beach, Santa Bárbara castle and an airport nearby. Lively, with every amenity.
Torrevieja and Orihuela Costa
A large international community, salt lakes and marinas. Often affordable, with many services in English.
The north: Dénia, Jávea, Calpe, Moraira
Greener, with coves and the Montgó as a landmark. A bit more upmarket and loved by those seeking calm and nature.
The inland
Villages just inland are quieter and often cheaper, with authentic Spanish life a short drive from the coast.
